Sewer Commissioners 2005 Annual Report

              REPORT OF THE BOARD OF SEWER COMMISSIONERS

To the inhabitants of the Town of Abington, the Board of Sewer Commissioners
respectfully submits its Annual Report for the year 2005.

First and foremost, we would like to welcome new Board members Robert
Toomey and Michael Donovan, Sr. The Commissioners would also like to thank
Matthew Herman and Richard Gambino for their years of dedicated service to
the Department.

With the help of our engineers, SEA Consultants, Inc. and Baystate Piping, the
rehab of the Daniel Drive pump station has taken place. In addition, the
Summer Street bypass pump has been installed. This pump will prove very
beneficial to the Department in the event of an emergency.

The sewer system has continued to grow. We currently have 14 operating
pump stations, over 100 miles of sewer pipe, and roughly 2,000 manholes which
are maintained by our capable staff throughout the year.

The Board has continued discussions with the Town of Rockland to adjust the
geographic area for Abington's use of the Treatment Plant Facilities.

The Board of Sewer Commissioners would like to note the excellent work of
the Department's Personnel in the past year. John Stone has had a great year
as Foreman. His knowledge has been very helpful to everyone and he
continues to be a valuable asset to the Department. Kristin O'Sullivan.
Executive Assistant has been a capable member of the staff for six years.
Claire Wing. Office Manager, has done a commendable job for 22 years. Victor
Young continues to contribute his knowledge in his second year as Licensed
Sewer Technician. The Board welcomed new employee Craig Burnett in the
summer of 2005. He is a great addition to the team. Carol Young has been very
helpful to the office staff as a part-time Clerk for the past year. Paul Donelan
helped to continue with the Sewer Department's sump pump remediation
program, which is designed to assist us in locating and correcting
sources of illegal sump pump connections.

We would like to thank the entire staff of the Sewer Department for a job well
done.
