REPORT OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD

    The Personnel Board is a five-member panel appointed by the Town
Moderator; each member serving a three-year staggered term. The
Board is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the
Classification and Salary Plan of the town of Abington, pursuant to the
provisions of General Laws, Chapter 41, Section 108-A, 108C and
amendments thereto.

    This Board is responsible for the accuracy of position
classifications, position descriptions and compensation for each
position under Article 2A of the Personnel By-Laws. The Personnel
Board must annually review all employee evaluations and provide
guidance to Department Heads, Boards and Commissions, supervisory
personnel and employees concerning and policies and procedures in
order to promote equal employment opportunity for all such employees.
