Cultural Committee 2005 Annual Report

         REPORT OF THE ABINGTON CULTURAL COUNCIL

The Abington Cultural Council operates under the authority of the
Massachusetts Cultural Council whose mission is "to promote
excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and
interpretive sciences in order to improve the quality of life for all
Massachusetts residents and to contribute to the economic vitality of
all communities". The FY2006 allocation for Abington is $4,310.

The funds are used to support events and festivals, enhance the fine
arts in local schools and enable artists and other creative individuals
to implement unique projects for the community and preserve historic
town documents and landmarks.

      Abington Park and Recreation

      Friends of the Abigton Public Library
      Fuller Museum
      North Elementary School
      North River Collaborative Family Network
      Saint Bridget School
      St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee
      South Shore Art Center
      Woodsdale School P.T.O.

Abington residents are encouraged to submit applications and
residents are reminded that the guidelines require that all funding
must be acknowledged with the following statement: "This program is
supported, in part, by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, as
administered by the Abington Cultural Council."
